Dear Friends,
I never remember a time not being “in church”. Growing up the granddaughter of a pastor, my family was always committed to the Lord and serving in our church. When the doors of the church were open, we were there. My parents served as youth group leaders, Sunday School teachers, pianist, Deacon, etc. My brother and I were always in children’s programs, VBS, and weekly church services. We attended church camp each summer and during several summers I served in various camp roles. I, along with my brother, were baptized by my Papa which was an extra special blessing. Even through college, I was home on the weekends attending church.
Being “in church” laid a solid foundation for me. I saw how others served, I was taught the familiar Bible stories, I formed trusting relationships- some of which still stand strong today. As I have grown and matured, got married, had kids, worked a 30 year career in education, I have realized that the Lord has been preparing me for such a time as this! He’s not done with me yet!
One of the best things about getting older for me has been my deepening relationship with Jesus! Throughout my life, He has been my foundation and I want to build upon that. Being “in church” is not enough for what God has called me to be. I desire to know him more, serve him more, and love him more. My life is about Him! My story is about Him!
Maybe like me, you long for a deeper relationship with Christ, or wonder how to take your next faith step. Maybe you hope to heal from past mistakes or are seeking love and approval. Through the ministry of HEART STORY, I hope you will be encouraged and rooted in the love and truth of Jesus.
